Here’s a piece of inspiring news.

An Interplast Australia surgical team will provide free reconstructive plastic surgery to patients in need at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for two weeks starting on July 31, the Australian Consulate General in the city has announced.

Stories like this bring enlightenment to the world that plastic surgery is not all about luxury or vanity. There are lives to change and plastic surgery can help bring out that change.

Sydney specialist plastic surgeon, Dr Allan Meares, and his team expect to perform about 100 free operations for local people, especially children, with  medical problems including scars, burns, cleft lips and palates, fractures and nerve and tendon damage to the hands and feet. The team will work closely with Cho Ray Hospital’s medical staff who will also benefit from surgical training while the Australian team is in town.

To Interplast Australia surgical team, keep up the good work! We sure need more of this type of endeavors.
