Garth Fisher, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a known celebrity plastic surgeon. Before he went into the field of medicine, Fisher used to hope to become an architect someday. However, an encounter with Dr. John McRae, when the latter asked him to watch a gallbladder surgery, turned everything around.
In a recent letter to McRae, Fisher writes, “I was just blown away by the operation and the incredible presence of the surgeon. I was awestruck by the operating room intensity, fascinated by the skill and control exhibited? At that moment in the operating room, my desire to become a surgeon was born!”
Fisher changed direction in his academic course to attend the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, and then moved to California for his internship and residencies at the University of California, Irvine.
At present, Dr. Garth Fisher is a renowned plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, California. Dr. Fisher has already given his services to world-famous entertainers and business leaders. Despite his tremendous success, Dr. Fisher continues to look up to Dr. John McRae as the inspiration for his career in medicine. In a heartfelt letter he sent to McRae, Fisher wrote, “Your impact on my life has been monumental. I am certain that you have saved lives, changed lives, impacted lives and made many patients happy.”
