Those cellulites keep coming back

Cellulite, sometimes called the cottage cheese look, often shows up as dimpling on the skin.  The look of cellulite is actually a top layer of fat under the skin and can affect even in those who are fit.  It does not necessary diminish with weight loss and liposuction fails to address this unsightly skin condition.

A non-evasive technique called ‘Endermologie’ has been developed by French plastic surgeons to radically reduce the appearance of cellulite.  The procedure uses rollers that are rubbed over problem areas of the skin like a deep tissue massage.  At the same time, suction is used to redistribute the skin – this way the dimpling on the skin is eliminated.

Best candidates for endermologie are persons who are usually between the ages of 30 to 45 and are physically fit.  Those over 30 pounds (13.60 kg) overweight tend not to benefit from the procedure while those who do not regularly exercise may see only temporary results.

The process usually entails 45-minute sessions, which can run from 14 to 28 days.  To help yield a better result, doctors normally ask patients to drink eight glasses of water prior to the procedure.

After completion of the regimen, a once a month follow-up treatment of the same is recommended to maintain the smooth skin look.  Endermologie does not permanently reduce the dimpled effect of cellulite thus monthly maintenance sessions must be maintained.

Side effects are minimal which may include temporary bruising or tolerable soreness in the areas treated.  However, those who are extremely sensitive to pain may find the pressure exerted by rollers tight and very uncomfortable.
